- Reproductive Disorders - Infertility, erectile dysfunction, menopause symptoms, PMS, fibroids, endometriosis.
Acupuncture needles are very fine and flexible, about the size of a human hair. They bear no resemblance to the needles used when receiving an injection. In most cases, insertion by a skilled practitioner is performed with minimal discomfort. All needles are used only once. A new individual needle is opened from a sterile and sealed package for each point applied.
How Acupuncture Works

Points for needling are chosen based on information given by the patient and a Chinese diagnostic system that may include analysis of a clients pulse and tongue. Sterile needles are gently tapped in and stimulated by moving the needle with micro movements to activate the point. There are hundreds of points with thousands of healing functions. At Lotus Shiatsu and Acupuncture, we strive to use the least number of needles that have the highest amount of healing properties for patient's ailments. Specific and custom tailored, the points used (referred to as the "point prescription") are skilfully chosen for each client individually.
A Healing Combination
Both Acupuncture and shiatsu therapy are based on the same Chinese Medicine principals. Combining clinical Acupuncture with Shiatsu, cupping or moxabustion provides profound restorative benefits. The relaxation response created by the massage helps calm clients, enhancing clinical acupuncture results.
